How to Build and Light an Abyss Portal

Gather the Frame Materials

An Abyss Portal is built from Abyssal Stone and lit with an Abyss Realmstone. Mine Abyssal Stone from Abyssal Grass terrain, then craft the decorative variants you need: Abyssal Stone Slab, Abyssal Stone Stairs, and Abyssal Stone Wall all come from Abyssal Stone through stonecutting. You can also smelt or blast Abyssal Stone into Abyssal Glass if you want a transparent frame.

Assemble and Activate

Build a rectangular frame the same way you would a Nether portal, using Abyssal Stone or any of its slab, stair, and wall variants for the border. Leave the interior empty. Obtain an Abyss Realmstone — this is the activation item, not a flint and steel. Right-click the inside of the frame with the Abyss Realmstone to light the portal and create the Abyss Portal block. Step into the portal to travel to the Abyss.

Practical Notes

Keep spare Abyssal Stone on hand so you can rebuild the frame if a portal is broken. Abyssal Glass and Abyssal Stone Slab both work as frame blocks, so you are not locked into one texture. If the portal refuses to light, check that every border block is a valid Abyssal Stone variant and that the interior is completely clear of blocks.
