Upgrading Netherite Gear to Netherite-Diamond with Smithing

The Smithing Transform Recipe

Netherite-Diamond tools and armor are made with the smithing_transform recipe type. You need a Smithing Table, your existing Netherite item, and a Netherite-Diamond Ingot.

1. Place the Smithing Table.

2. Open it and put your Netherite tool or armor piece in the base slot.

3. Put a Netherite-Diamond Ingot in the addition slot.

4. Take the resulting Netherite-Diamond item.

This works for the full set: Netherite-Diamond Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots, Sword, Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, Hoe, and Spear. Each upgrade consumes one Netherite-Diamond Ingot.

Repeat for Other Tiers

The same smithing_transform process applies to the other three tiers. Swap the addition slot item:

• Netherite-Iron Ingot produces Netherite-Iron gear.
• Netherite-Gold Ingot produces Netherite-Gold gear.
• Netherite-Emerald Ingot produces Netherite-Emerald gear.

So one Smithing Table handles every upgrade path. Craft the matching ingot first, then transform the Netherite base item into the tier you want.

Before You Start

Have your Netherite gear already crafted. The smithing step upgrades existing items rather than creating gear from scratch, so prepare the Netherite base pieces and the correct ingots together before opening the table.
