Building a Steam Turbine

Making Steam

Steam drives the Steam Turbine Controller. Feed a Heating Chamber with fuel and water through an Item Input Port and a Fluid Intake Valve. The Heat Exchanger and Heat Exchanger Controller move heat from the chamber into the water loop. Route the resulting Steam out through a Fluid Output Valve into Fuel Tank storage or directly into the turbine.

Assembling the Turbine

Place the Steam Turbine Controller and build the body from Iron Frame and Iron Tubing. Inside the housing, install a rotor: Basic Turbine Rotor, Reinforced Turbine Rotor, Advanced Turbine Rotor, Enhanced Turbine Rotor, or Composite Turbine Rotor. Match the rotor to the turbine tier — Basic Turbine, Reinforced Turbine, Advanced Turbine, Enhanced Turbine, or Composite Turbine. Blades such as Basic Turbine Blade slot into the rotor.

Upgrading

Each turbine tier has a matching upgrade kit: Basic Turbine Upgrade Kit, Reinforced Turbine Upgrade Kit, Advanced Turbine Upgrade Kit, Enhanced Turbine Upgrade Kit, and Composite Turbine Upgrade Kit. Apply the kit to move the assembly up a tier without rebuilding from scratch.

Output and Control

Connect a voltage emitter to the controller and buffer the output in a Power Capacitor. Add a Redstone Control Module for on/off control and a Sensor Module to read turbine state. A Steam Bucket is handy for priming the loop by hand.
