Using Metal and Stone Pumps to Move Smoke

Pick a pump

Pumps pull smoke through a chimney network. The mod provides Metal Pump and Stone Pump. Place a pump in line with your Duct run where you want to redirect or boost the flow. Both pump types connect to Duct and to Pump Pipe.

Run Pump Pipe

Pump Pipe is the block that carries smoke away from a pump to a distant exhaust point. Connect Pump Pipe to the pump, then run Pump Pipe to the chimney block you want the smoke to exit from. Keep the Pump Pipe run continuous — every segment must touch the next, and the final segment must touch the chimney head.

Add a vent

At the exhaust end, place a Metal Vent or Stone Vent. Vents are the output blocks for a pumped system, matching the pump material for a consistent build: Stone Pump with Stone Vent, Metal Pump with Metal Vent. The vent replaces or sits at the chimney opening so smoke leaves there.

Check the chain

A complete pumped line is: heat source → Duct → Pump → Pump Pipe → Vent. If smoke stalls, verify the pump touches both the incoming Duct and the outgoing Pump Pipe, and that the Pump Pipe terminates on a Vent rather than open air. Use Metal components for a metal-themed build and Stone components for a stone-themed build; the two sets are interchangeable in function.
