How to Build a Working Chimney with the Advanced Chimneys Mod

Choose a chimney block

Place any chimney block from the mod where you want smoke to exit: Cobblestone Chimney, Stone Chimney, Small Brick Chimney, Large Brick Chimney, Glass Chimney, or Metal Chimney. Each is a valid chimney head and can be crafted with the mod's shaped recipes. The chimney block is the visible top of the system.

Connect the smoke path

Below the chimney block, run Duct blocks down toward the source of the smoke. Duct is the connective block that carries smoke between the chimney head and the rest of the system. Stack Ducts vertically or route them horizontally; each Duct links to the next. The bottom of the Duct run should sit above or beside the furnace or fire you want vented.

Finish the run

Cap the top with your chosen chimney block and make sure every Duct in the line touches the block above or below it. If smoke does not appear, check that no gap exists between the chimney head and the Duct run, and that the lowest Duct is positioned over the heat source. Swap the chimney head material at any time — Cobblestone, Stone, Small Brick, Large Brick, Glass, and Metal chimney blocks all function as the exhaust point, so pick the look you want without rebuilding the Duct line.
