How to Craft and Place All 16 Colored Planks

Crafting the colored planks

Adorn adds sixteen colored plank blocks: Black Planks, Blue Planks, Brown Planks, Cyan Planks, Gray Planks, Green Planks, Light Blue Planks, Light Gray Planks, Lime Planks, Magenta Planks, Orange Planks, Pink Planks, Purple Planks, Red Planks, White Planks, and Yellow Planks. Each one is produced through a shaped crafting recipe. Place the dye color that matches the plank name together with ordinary planks in the crafting grid to convert them into the corresponding colored plank block.

Building with them

Colored planks behave like normal wood planks for building. Use them for walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, and furniture frames. Because all sixteen colors share the same block shape, you can mix them freely in a single build — for example, a Light Blue Planks wall with a White Planks trim, or a Black Planks floor under Red Planks shelving. Combine them with Picket Fence and Chain Link Fence to break up flat surfaces, and run Copper Pipe, Exposed Copper Pipe, Weathered Copper Pipe, or Oxidized Copper Pipe along a wall as a decorative line. Stone Ladder and Stone Torch also pair well with colored plank interiors. If you want a room to read as a single palette, pick two or three colors and repeat them; if you want a busier look, alternate planks row by row. Keep a stack of each color in a Crate near your build site so you can swap blocks without walking back to storage.
