Adjust Shadow Quality and Performance

Access Shader Settings

Open your shader options menu while in-game. This is typically found in Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options, though the exact path depends on your launcher.

Configure Shadow Parameters

Look for shadow-related sliders and toggles. Common adjustments include:

  • Shadow Distance: Controls how far shadows render from your character. Reducing this improves performance on lower-end systems while keeping nearby shadows sharp.
  • Shadow Resolution: Higher values create crisper shadow edges but demand more GPU power. Lower settings maintain smooth gameplay.
  • Soft Shadows: Toggle this to control shadow blur. Enabled creates the cinematic soft look; disabled sharpens shadows for performance.

Test and Balance

After each change, observe your frame rate and visual quality. Stand in mixed sunlight and shadow to see the effect clearly. Adjust incrementally rather than making large jumps. If you experience stuttering, reduce shadow distance or resolution first. The mod is designed to stay smooth, so you should maintain stable frames even with higher settings—if not, dial back further.
