What a Lamp Is For

Lamps are the flat, fixture-style light blocks in the mod. They exist in the same material families as the torches: Oak Lamp, Birch Lamp, Acacia Lamp, Jungle Lamp, Dark Oak Lamp, Crimson Lamp, CobbleStone Lamp, Mossy CobbleStone Lamp, BlackStone Lamp, Nether Bricks Lamp, End Stone Lamp, Glass Lamp, Ice Lamp, Iron Lamp, Gold Lamp, Diamond Lamp, Magenta Wool Lamp, and Pink Wool Lamp. Use a Lamp when you want light attached to a ceiling or wall without the protruding shape of a torch.

Crafting and Placement

Each Lamp is made with a shaped crafting recipe from its matching material, the same material that produces the AlTorch, Standing Torch, and Fire Pit of that family. Decide on one material per room so the fixtures match: CobbleStone Lamp for a cellar, Glass Lamp for a greenhouse, Gold Lamp or Diamond Lamp for a decorated hall. Place Lamps directly against the surface you want lit and space them so floor coverage overlaps slightly. If a Lamp variant does not fit a tight corner, switch to the AlTorch or Standing Torch of the same material to keep the look consistent while changing the footprint.
