Using Markers to Define a Mining Area

Choosing a Marker

Several marker blocks exist for different shapes and needs. Marker Plus and Flexible Marker let you build custom outlines. Chunk Marker and Waterlogged Chunk Marker snap the area to a full chunk. Waterlogged Flexible Marker and Waterlogged Marker Plus are the waterlogged variants for use in or near water. Place markers at the corners or along the boundary of the region you want machines to work in.

Connecting to Machines

Markers define the work zone for Quarry Plus, Mini Quarry, Old Quarry Plus, Filler, and Breaker Plus. After placing the markers, place the machine inside or adjacent to the marked region. The machine reads the marker positions and confines its work to that area. For depth control on a quarry, add the Quarry Y Setter.

Adjusting and Reusing

Break and reposition markers to reshape the zone at any time; the machine updates to the new bounds. Use Flexible Marker when the terrain is uneven and Chunk Marker when you want clean chunk-aligned edges. If you need the machine to place blocks rather than remove them, use Filler with a Filler Module, or Placer Plus and Remote Placer for placing specific blocks. Keep markers distinct from Dummy Block and Replacer Dummy Block, which serve the Replacer and Quarry Replacer instead.
