How to Craft Gold Bars and Iron Bars

Crafting Iron Bars

Iron Bars are crafted from Iron Ingots using a crafting recipe. Smelt iron ore into ingots, then craft the ingots into Iron Bars at a crafting table. Iron Bars are the classic metal bar block for windows, prison cells, cages, and railings.

Crafting Gold Bars

Gold Bars are crafted from Gold Ingots using a crafting recipe. Smelt gold ore into ingots, then craft them into Gold Bars. Gold Bars are decorative and luxurious; use them for vaults, treasure rooms, throne rooms, and display cases.

Choosing between them

• Iron Bars read as utilitarian and industrial. Use them for factories, dungeons, and mine entrances.
• Gold Bars read as ornate and wealthy. Use them for palaces, banks, and trophy rooms.
• Both connect to adjacent bars and to many other blocks, so they form continuous grilles.

Practical notes

• Craft in batches; a single window frame can eat a dozen bars.
• Combine Iron Bars with stone bricks and Gold Bars with quartz or polished blocks for a clean palette.
• Keep spare ingots on hand so you can extend a run of bars without interrupting a build.
