Stonecutter Shortcut

For stone-family blocks, the stonecutter produces stairs and walls directly from the full block. Feed Basalt, Calcite, Clay, Coal, Chiseled Tuff, or Chiseled Tuff Bricks into the stonecutter and pick the stair or wall output. This saves blocks compared to the crafting grid.
