How to Craft Slabs and Stairs for Any Vanilla Block

Pick your base block

Slabs and stairs exist for a wide range of vanilla materials in this mod. You can craft them from Acacia Planks Wall, Andesite, Amethyst, Basalt, Black Concrete, Black Glass, Black Terracotta, Black Wool, Blue Concrete, Blue Glass, Blue Ice, Blue Terracotta, Blue Wool, Bone, Brick, Brown Concrete, Brown Glass, Brown Mushroom, Brown Terracotta, Brown Wool, Calcite, Clay, Coal, and more.

Craft the slab first

Place your base block in a crafting grid to produce the matching slab. For example, Andesite yields Andesite Slab, Amethyst yields Amethyst Slab, and Bone yields Bone Slab. Once you have the slab, place two slabs in a vertical column in the crafting grid to get the matching stairs — Andesite Slab becomes Andesite Stairs, Bone Slab becomes Bone Stairs, and so on.

Use stonecutting for efficiency

Many of these blocks also have a stonecutting recipe. Put the base block into a stonecutter and select the slab or stair output directly. This skips the two-step crafting chain and lets you convert one block straight into the shape you want. Stonecutting is available for stone-family materials like Andesite, Basalt, Blackstone, Calcite, Clay, and Coal, as well as for the concrete, glass, terracotta, wool, and mushroom variants.

Match your build

Because every color and material has its own slab and stair, you can keep a single palette across floors, roofs, and trim. Craft the slab, then the stairs, then repeat for the next color.
