How to Craft Concrete, Glass, Terracotta, and Wool Slabs and Stairs

Colored slab families

Every dye color has its own slab, stair, and wall set for concrete, glass, terracotta, and wool. The available colors are Black, Blue, and Brown, with matching entries for each material. For example: Black Concrete Slab, Black Concrete Stairs, Black Concrete Wall; Blue Glass Slab, Blue Glass Stairs, Blue Glass Wall; Brown Terracotta Slab, Brown Terracotta Stairs, Brown Terracotta Wall; Black Wool Slab, Black Wool Stairs, Black Wool Wall.

Crafting order

Start with the base block. Place the concrete, glass, terracotta, or wool block in a crafting grid to get the slab. Combine two slabs vertically to get the stairs. Combine the base block or slab in the stonecutter to get the wall directly. The wall is the piece that connects horizontally, so craft it last when you already know the run length you need.

Glass and ice notes

Glass slabs, stairs, and walls keep the transparent look of the source glass, so they work for windows, skylights, and railings that should not block sightlines. Blue Ice Slab, Blue Ice Stairs, and Blue Ice Wall are the ice variants and behave like packed ice for building purposes.

Coordinate a palette

Because concrete, glass, terracotta, and wool all share the same color names, you can build a single-color room by mixing all four materials. Use concrete for the floor, terracotta for the walls, wool for soft accents, and glass for the windows, all in the same color.
