Customize Lighting and Shadows
Locating Lighting Controls
Open the AALab Shaders configuration panel from your Video Settings. Look for lighting, shadow, or illumination options in the menu.
Adjusting Light Behavior
AALab Shaders allows you to modify how light interacts with your world:
- Vanilla-like style — Keeps lighting close to standard Minecraft, with subtle improvements.
- Enhanced lighting — Increases contrast and depth, making shadows darker and highlights brighter.
- Fantasy style — Applies stylized lighting that can make your world feel more atmospheric or surreal.
Testing Your Changes
Adjust one setting at a time and observe the effect in different lighting conditions—try caves, sunlit areas, and near water. Some lighting changes are more noticeable at specific times of day or in particular biomes.
Performance Note
Enhanced lighting modes consume more resources. If you're on lower-end hardware, stick with vanilla-like or reduced lighting options to maintain smooth gameplay.
