Designing Castle Windows with Medieval Iron Bars
Planning Your Window Layout
Decide on your castle's architectural style—narrow arrow slits, wide defensive windows, or decorative patterns. Sketch out where iron bars will go on your walls. The 3D bars work well in both small, fortress-like openings and larger, more ornate windows.
Constructing the Window Frame
Build your window frame using stone, dark oak wood, or blackstone. Create the opening slightly larger than you need, then arrange iron bars to fill the space. You can create patterns by mixing bars with other blocks like glass panes or leave gaps for a more weathered appearance.
Adding Depth and Detail
The resource pack's darker metal tones complement aged stone perfectly. Layer your bars at different depths by placing some bars one block forward or back from others—this creates visual interest and emphasizes the 3D quality. Add shutters on the outside using trapdoors or fence gates to suggest a functional, lived-in castle.
Light from inside the castle will shine through the bars, casting realistic shadows that highlight their three-dimensional structure.
