Creating a Medieval Dungeon Cell with 3D Iron Bars
Building the Cell Structure
Start by constructing your dungeon walls using stone bricks or deepslate tiles. Leave window or door openings where you want the iron bars to go. The 3D bars will look most impressive when they frame a clear opening rather than being embedded flush in the wall.
Installing the Iron Bars
Place vanilla iron bars in your openings as you normally would. The resource pack automatically transforms them into thick, three-dimensional grates with darker medieval coloring. The bars will appear as solid metal rods rather than flat lines, creating a heavy, imposing look.
Enhancing the Atmosphere
Pair your barred cells with dim lighting—torches or lanterns placed outside the cell create dramatic shadows through the thick grates. Add chains hanging from the ceiling above the bars for extra medieval authenticity. Consider placing a crafting table or cauldron inside cells to suggest imprisonment or alchemy.
The 3D effect works best when viewed from multiple angles, so leave space for players to walk around your dungeon and appreciate the depth the bars add to your build.
